Foodie Friday: the Diet Chef Review

Working mums have enough to juggle and trying to cook separate meals for a healthier diet in a bid to lose weight, can take its toll on time and money.

That’s why we jumped at the chance to review Diet Chef, as it seemed to kill both of those birds with one stone – delivering all meals and snacks straight to our doorstep.

Diet Chef is a home delivery diet service that specialises in delivering healthy ready-to-heat meals direct to your door. Each meal is calorie controlled (and thats how you lose the weight!) with those on the programme eating a total of 1200 calories a day. Diet Chef say that this ideal amount of calories for active women looking to maintain energy levels but also lose weight in a safe and sensible way.

How it works
You basically sign up to a plan on Diet Chef – four weeks, eight weeks or 12 weeks or even longer, and you choose every meal and snack; so that’s breakfast, lunch and dinner and its delivered to you in a hamper.

Each hamper contains all the food for your chosen for the month – all of which you can handpick yourself in advance.

20130906-060801.jpgAnd there is a good selection – we tried a few meals ourselves, and there is something for everyone. From chicken tikka masala, paella, shepherd’s pie, lasagne, sweet and sour chicken and a variety of soups and salads. For snacks, there is even salt and vinegar popcorn, so that gives you an idea of how wide and contemporary the food choices are.
