Jessica Huie, Colorblind Cards

Jessica with daughter Monet“In March 2004, I was offered a full-time position working as a press and public relations consultant for Max Clifford, having made an excellent impression when I had worked for the company as a naive undergraduate.

I joined the company when the David Beckham/Rebecca Loos saga was in all the papers, and found myself thrown into the deep end – and I loved it. I?ve always wanted to be my own boss, so launching Colorblind Cards (www.colorblindcards.com), a multicltural greeting card company launched to fill the gap in the market for an inspirational, inclusive publisher, was a natural progression.

In January 2007 Colorblind Cards came third in the Evening Standard/O2 Awards to find London?s most inspirational business.

Six months since the business launched, Colorblind are stocked in numerous outlets across the UK and have been commissioned to create a Special edition card for the PFA (Professional Football Association). Having signed a deal with online card giant Moonpig.com (which control 95% of the online card market) to become the company?s first and only ethnic publisher, Colorblind Card?s future is bright and I feel that my journey is just beginning.

Colorblind Cards has just made history as the first British card publishing company to put multicultural faces on highstreet shelves. Colorblind Cards are set to be stocked across hundreds of Clinton Cards stores, signalling the end of the days when stores were devoid of black cards.

I still write for Pride magazine as a columnist and freelance for a plethora of publications including the Sunday Mirror and Now magazine. The next few months will see Jessica focus entirely on the progression of Colorblind Cards, and see the company realise its full potential.”
