Being a mum is hard work. Between taking care of your children and running errands, it can be hard to find time to take care of yourself. The good news is, there are plenty of ways to fit exercise into your busy day and keep your energy levels up. Here are three break time workouts that you can do in between tasks.
1. Desk Push-Ups

If you have an office job, these are a great way to exercise during the day. All you need is a desk or table and a chair. Place your hands on the edge of the desk and walk your feet back until they’re on the chair behind you. Keeping your core tight, lower yourself down until your chest nearly touches the desk before pushing back up again.
Aim for 10-15 reps at a time!
2. Stair Climbs
If you have stairs in your home or workplace, this quick workout will help get your heart rate up without taking too much time out of your day. Start by standing at the bottom of the stairs and walking up as quickly as possible without running or skipping steps (unless you want to!). Once you reach the top, walk back down slowly to give yourself a chance to recover before going again.
Aim for two to three rounds of stair climbs for an effective break time workout!
3. Squat Jumps
Squat jumps are an excellent way to get in some cardio during those short breaks throughout the day when all you have is a few minutes here and there. Start by standing with your feet shoulder-width apart and bending at the knees until they form 90-degree angles with the floor before jumping up as high as possible while simultaneously raising both arms above your head and clapping them together before landing softly back on the ground in starting position again.
Aim for 10-15 squats each round!

Working out doesn’t have to take hours out of your day – just five minutes here, and there can make a big difference! Plus, break-time workouts are also great for giving yourself a mental boost to tackle any task with renewed energy and focus.
So next time you find yourself with just five minutes between tasks, why not try one of these break time workouts? You’ll thank yourself later!
