The Countess of Wessex has given birth to a boy, Buckingham Palace announced on Monday night.
Sophie, the wife of Prince Edward, had a child weighing 2.8kg (6lb 2oz) by Caesarean section. He is the couple’s second child and the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh’s eighth grandchild.
