A series of delays by police prevented Baby P?s mother being charged with assaulting the toddler months before his death, a leaked report suggests.
It said that the Metropolitan Police began an investigation into suspicious bruises on the 17-month-old baby?s head and body in December 2006. However, the case ?drifted? after the detective in charge changed jobs in March and did not pass the case to another officer.
