So, as every day goes by I seem to fall in love more with the iPhone, but also find something else it can’t do.
Today, I wanted to send a meeting request to a contact, and I couldn’t find a straightforward way to do this on the iPhone’s calendar. After trawling the net for some instructions, I still didn’t find anything, so my verdict is that it can’t do meeting requests.
While I’m all for sending confirmation emails etc, without an alert it can be really easy to double book and have to cancel meetings at short notice – not very professional. Why would the iPhone be pitched as a good business phone if it can’t do a basic thing like meeting requests? Or am I the only person who does them these days?
Anyway, it seems like I’m not the only person thinking like this, and there are loads of apps to help – the first one I tried was iDoMeet, which installed perfectly, but was in Arabic when it came to actually setting it up and using it…great if I could understand what I was reading!
So, the next app I tried and am currently using is iNvite, which works like a dream!
I just want to add finally, that if you have an iPhone (or any smartphone for that matter), all this browsing for apps can lead to high phone bills if you don’t have the right mobile internet package. During this challenge, Three has kindly sent me a Pay-as-You-Go sim card that has the ‘All You Can Eat Data plan – it really has gone the distance and has made wanting an app, searching for one, and downloading apps very affordable…not to mention browsing in general.
