Edith Bowman has a heart defect which rules out natural childbirth.The pregnant Radio 1 DJ Edith Bowman has dramatically revealed that she is jeopardising her own health to have her first baby.
Bowman is five months pregnant and due to have her first child with partner Tom Smith, lead singer of the band the Editors, in June.
But, speaking for the first time about becoming a mother, she disclosed that she has a potentially life-threatening heart condition. The heart problem, diagnosed four years ago, makes having a child a far greater risk.
