This year’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me out of Here winner, Stacey Solomon and X Factor runner up Rebecca Ferguson have two things in common – they are both mothers, striving for a better life, and they both seem to have quite low self confidence on screen.
It has been amazing to watch both Stacey and Rebecca on their respective shows – they wanted to be there (obviously), were both well loved, but seem to give the impression that they are somewhere far down the pecking order when it came to winning their shows…and it didn’t look like they were pretending either.
It’s something that a lot of mothers seem to think – especially those who have been out of work for a while, or return to work not feeling fully happy with the way they look.
Self confidence is – or a lack of it, as it appears – can be very damaging if you let it take over. I’m convinced that Rebecca would have won the X Factor if she wasn’t so shy…she has a wonderful voice, and while it’s refreshing to watch a diva on the X Factor for a change, it was hard to watch her coil after she had sang her songs.
