Sales of 4×4 ‘Chelsea Tractors’ have plummeted by a fifth as fuel prices soar and motorists are hit by hefty gas-guzzler taxes.
New registrations of 4x4s last month dropped by more than 18per cent compared with May 2007, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) reported yesterday.
