How to find your true passion

How to find your passion
Find your passion and start earning money doing what you love!

Are you stuck at a crossroads in your life, but don’t know what your passion in life is?

If you’ve decided to break away from the monotony the job you hate and want to do something you have a passion for, then you’ve probably got one burning question…How do you find out what your passion?

How do you separate pipe dreams from what is achievable? You could have a passion for becoming  the next Apprentice, or winning the lottery or becoming the next female prime minister. But what is your true passion?

Here are a few steps you can take to discover the currents that move you deep inside:

1.    Read your own body language

How does your body behave at your work? Does it tense up and ache all the time? Do you get panic attacks very often? Are you so bored that you doze off at your desk? Do you keep looking at the clock and feel disappointed that you’ve still got a full day’s wor to do?

If you answer yes to most or all of the above, then you are in the wrong job. You simply don’t have the passion for it. When you work on a job that you are passionate about, all your aches and cramps will dissolve. You will find yourself working extra hours, talking to your friends about your work and simply bubbling with life.

2.    What did you love doing as a child?

Your childhood hobbies and obsessions can indicate a genuine passion. Education and family pressures often move us away from our true calling. Did you love bikes or gardening or trekking? Then maybe a career in the automobile or landscaping or travel industries is where you should be! So sit back and recall your childhood and write down your memories. What made you smile then may still make you grin today and in the future.

3.    What do you love doing as an adult?

It always amazes me how some people complain about being in a job they hate, yet beam back to life when they describe a hobby or something they just like doing in their spare time.

For some people, having the regular income of a main job, and then going home to work on what they really enjoy doing is the perfect balance. But for others, this is simply not enough.

If that’s the case, then you need to look into the work available doing the hobby you love, finding out if you need further qualificiations, and deciding if you want to change your hobby into your main job. Some people make the switch only to find that they lose the passion they had for the hobby once it becomes the livelihood.
