Hillary Clinton narrowly beat Barack Obama in the New Hampshire primary this morning in a major upset that reignited her hopes of capturing the White House.
At 3.45am Mr Obama, who had held a big lead in opinion polls following his stunning victory in Iowa last week, conceded to his rival, who was winning by a three-point margin with nearly three-quarters of the votes counted.
??I want to congratulate Senator Clinton,? he said.
He added that voters had signalled they wanted change and he remained ?fired up and ready to go? in the forthcoming contests in Nevada and South Carolina. But the defeat was a dramatic setback for a campaign that had appeared to be coasting to victory in the New England state.
