How to Manage Your Time When You’re a Working Mum

Being a mum is one of the most rewarding and yet challenging jobs you will ever undertake. It’s no surprise that when you add work into the mix, it can be hard to find a balance between your duties as a parent and professional. However, it is possible to manage both parts of your life and still have time for yourself. Here are some tips on how to do just that!

1. Make Lists

Creating lists can help you plan out and prioritise tasks that need to be done at work or at home. Having a clear idea of what needs to be done will make it easier for you to plan ahead and ensure that important tasks don’t fall through the cracks. If necessary, break down large projects into smaller manageable chunks so that they don’t seem overwhelming.

2. Schedule Your Day

Scheduling your day allows you to visualise all of your commitments in one place so that nothing gets overlooked or forgotten about. When creating your schedule, try to include breaks throughout the day so that you don’t get overwhelmed by all of the things that need to be done. In addition, make sure to allow some flexibility in your schedule because as we know, kids can be unpredictable!

3. Take Advantage Of Technology

Technology has provided us with some great tools to help us manage our time more effectively such as calendar apps and task management systems like Trello or Asana which allAAow us to assign tasks or events easily and share them with other people if needed. Utilising these tools can save you valuable time and energy which means more time for yourself!

Managing time as a working mum can seem daunting but with careful planning and organisation, it is achievable! By taking advantage of technology such as task management systems and calendar apps, you can minimise stress while still being able to fulfil all of your duties both in the workplace and at home. Make sure not to forget about yourself in the midst of all this; take breaks throughout the day if needed so that you are able to recharge mentally and physically throughout this journey!
