Name: Anita Curry
Age: 31

Job title: Founder/CEO
Company: Influence
What was the motivating factor for staring your own business?
I was sick of working in male-dominated working environments and limited support/opportunities for women.
?Running a business can be a mixed bag sometimes. What have been you highs and lows so far?
Lows are staying up all night with young sick kids for nights on end and working full time during the day – it’s a form of torture.
Highs are receiving funds for my own business, which makes work a little more flexible so time can be spent with the children and working, plus the occasional lie-in to compensate for sleepless nights (total bliss).
What is available to mothers now that you wish you had access to when your family was young?
Technology to connect me with other like-minded women going through similar challenges, hence the development of Influence.
How have you managed to stay on top of your career with the demands of motherhood?
Coffee and wine.
What has been the high point along the way?
Receiving funding from three total strangers
What is your worst experience along the way?
The not knowing if funding would ever come, and trying to remain focused during sleepless nights.
Any tips for expectant mums, or mothers who feel that you can’t have a successful career and a happy family life at the same time?
