What do you get when you cross a Nintendo Wii with a kids games console?
Something very similar to VTech’s latest addition – the V.Smile Motion, I’d imagine.
We were a bit sceptical when we got the box, but seeing our four-year-old son (and he’d only just turned four the previous week, I might add) – who isn’t a dab hand at computer consoles (we just don’t ‘do’ them in our house) – snatch the controller and get to playing, I was amazed.
An hour later, and I had to disconnect from the mains, so thumbs-up on keeping even the most distractible child entertained for that long V Smile!
Pros
- Even though you might wonder how children as young as three years of age, right up to the age of seven can be entertained with the same ?toy?, VTech has managed to do this, as the games have different levels. And even better than that, it?s something you can play along with your children with if you want to see how smart they are on the sly. It really can make learning fun for younger children.
- The system is very easy to assemble ? five to 10 minutes and you?re good to go. Plus it plugs into the TV.
- Another plus is that if your kids already have VTech games, they can also use it in this system.
- The system is very sturdy and brightly coloured – with no obvious target for boys and girls, which makes a change!
Cons
- The battery does drain, so remember to switch the console off when it?s not in use ? and maybe stock up on some rechargeable batteries!
- The graphics are not amazing, but for children that young it doesn’t really matter – and at ?59.99, it’s still value for money.
