LinkedIn, www.linkedin.com started off as a website where you could basically create a professional profile for yourself in the hope that you could get a job, or make professional connections.

Today, it’s still great for that, but there is so much more you can do on it. On LinkedIn you can promote your business, make business contacts to do business with, and also engage with your customers.

LinkedIn like  Facebook and Twitter is free to use, and you can upgrade your account to send messages direct to people who you have not ‘connected’ with, but in all the time I have been using it, I have never had to pay to make the connections I wanted to make!

LinkedIn also carries advertising. So, if you are looking for an alternative to Google Adsense, adverting with LinkedIn‘s Direct Ads is a great way to sell to a targetted audience. This is another benefit that LinkedIn has over Google Adsense – instead of just focusing on the keyword, with LinkedIn, you can also serve adverts according to gender, profession, location etc, so you can get a much better return on your financial investment.
