Lipo without the knife…would you do it?

Med Contour - an alternative to lipo

With work Christmas parties fast approaching, and thoughts of what to wear to family Christmas get togethers, many of us are looking in the mirror and wishing we had a magic wand to vanish away the bingo wings, muffin tops and double chins!

Well, that’s just never going to happen, but a new technology that’s taking the celeb circuit by storm may just do the trick!

MedContour (www.med-contour.co.uk) uses ultrasound and cavitation technology to break down fat cells in specifically targeted problem areas without invasive techniques, damage or scarring to the skin. We talked about it a few weeks ago in a feature about how to get Olympic abs like Jessica Ennis

By concentrating the ultrasound directly and only on fat cells, the Med Contour clinicians are able to use a vacuum pump to suck in tissue and focus on variable ultrasound frequencies to smooth and dramatically improve the body’s contours.

Our review, Suzy Bull will be sharing her experience of Med Contour so you can track her progress – Med Contour recommend a minimum of six sessions (each costing around £165), so she’ll be giving us a session by session progress report. Here’s what she thought of the taster session this week.

“When I first got told about Med Contour, a non-invasive liposuction, I couldn’t believe that such a quick and simple treatment could have such dramatic effects – so of course I jumped at the chance to give it a go.

“On arrival, I was greeted by a very friendly member of the team with whom
I discussed which part of my body I would like treated. I think its fair to say most women would go for their stomach, so yes, you guessed it, that’s the area I chose!

“After running me through the procedure and explaining a the science behind it we got going..….

“I had an initial picture taken of my stomach, which (after a day at the office) was feeling a little more than uncomfortable, but never the less, it would give me a good idea of how the first treatment worked. The team took a measurement around my stomach, 85cm!

“My stomach was then covered with lubricant, much like that in an ultrasound (mums – you all know what that feels like!!), a little cold, but not unpleasant. Once applied, the machine was switched on and placed on my stomach. The plates were warm, and had a very slight pricking sensation to start with, but not at all uncomfortable. They were ran over my entire stomach and then over that irrefutable muffin top, all while laying comfortably on my back.

“I can only describe it as having an hour long stomach massage. After one side of my stomach had been treated, I was able to see a picture, taken by my therapist. I still couldn’t believe that you could already see that the treated side was flatter and less bumpy…AMAZING!!

“Both sides of the stomach were treated with the same amount of time and detail. Following the treatment of the heated plates, which are used to break down the fat cells, you then have a procedure called drainage, which I believe disperses the broken down fat cells. This was very much like using the end of a vacuum. It was run over the treated area and had a sucking sensation. Again, there was no pain and felt fairly relaxing!

“The treatment was complete in only an hour, and I felt flatter and firmer and had lost 2cm from around my stomach!! I couldn’t believe it.

“Throughout the next few days, I was well aware that there was less bulge over my jeans! Maybe not dramatically visible to others, but I was certainly a happy customer!”

Look out for Suzy’s next instalment next week!
