Must-have iPad accessories for busy working mums

While I am not impressed with the iPad and what you can use it to do in your business, it does have some great accessories on the market:

1.  CandyShell iPad case

If you want a durable, yet bright and girlie cover, then the CandyShell case from Speck is perfect. It fits snugly around the iPad or iPad2, and has a small compartment that you pull back when you want to charge the tablet, put it on a docking station etc. You can reach all the necessary buttons (power, volume etc) and basically use your iPad as normal, which is great.

The only downside (although this is a matter of preference really) is that the screen is not covered, but if you find having to undo a cover to start using your iPad every time frustrating, then a case like this is perfect – you can always buy a screen cover to make sure you are protecting the iPad screen from any scratches.

2. Wall mount for iPad

Vogel’s accessories for the iPad are great for the family. We tested the wall mount for the iPad, and is a great accessory to have for home or business. If you have children and want to keep them entertained with a film or a App, you can just slot it onto the wall mount (which is easy to fix and does not take up a lot of space).

You could also use it for business – for example if you have a dedicated meeting room, and would like to use your iPad to do presentations, it’s a great accessory to to have. The added benefit is that this comes with a cover, which you can keep on and use whether you use the wall mount or not, so it really is a good purchase.

Vogel also have a car mount (we did not test this out), which is great for those long drives with bored children – it brings a whole new meaning to pimping your car, and on a cheaper, yet classier scale, too.

3. Executive buckle case

I was very impressed with this case – and received a lot of compliments, too, when I brought out this luxurious case, made from top layer Brazillian buffalo hide.

The case is the smartest iPad2 case I’ve seen and is very unique – you wouldn’t even think it holds an iPad, and it is not as expensive as it looks, either, at just £24.95.

4.Bluetooth keyboard case

If you’ve read any of my reviews on using the iPad for business, you will have heard me say that you can’t use the iPad thinking it will replace your laptop. That said, there are some elements of a laptop that some of us may well miss – the keyboard, to be precise.

It was one of my concerns when I bought my iPad, because I was concerned about the whole touchscreen typing element of the iPad, and the fact that there really aren’t any shortcuts to use – not in the way we are so comfortable with when using laptops and PCs.

It looks like KeyCase were thinking the same when they created the iPad folio deluxe with bluetooth Keyboard – which is a case that has a bluetooth keyboard inside it. So, you can basically use the functions of an iPad without having to worry about re-learning the way you do things.

This is a great accessory to have, the only downside is that when you use bluetooth generally, it will drain power, and the iPad is no different, so bear this in mind when using it on the road.

5. Camera Connector

If you’re like the typical doting mum, you’ll have more snaps of your children and memorable moments on your mobile phone than anywhere else. Sometimes, you just can’t wait for a camera!

If not being able to transfer photos to and from your iPhone or iPad has been a pain, then get yourself one of the must-have iPhone accessories – a camera connection kit. With these nifty things, you can save your photos on a memory card and put them onto your iPhone or iPad in a jiffy!

6. Keep the dream alive

Battery charge is not an iPhone strong point, but you can keep in touch with family and work if you get yourself aniPhone charger like the Incipio Offgrid battery backup case. Just charge it up before you leave home and whip it out when your phone runs out of juice!
