Alec Greven, from Colorado, first offered his wisdom and insight into approaching girls when asked to write an essay about something he had observed in ordinary life.
Nuggets of advice include combing your hair and knowing that while 73 per cent of girls “ditch boys”, the rate increase to 98 per cent for pretty girls. The pretty ones are “like cars that need a lot of oil,” he wrote.
Teachers at the Soaring Hawk Elementary School in Castle Rock were so amused by his work that they suggested he sell copies at a book fair for three dollars a piece, attracting attention that has culminated in a HarperCollins book deal for How To Talk To Girls.
He has also made an appearance on the daytime chat show hosted by comedian Ellen DeGeneres and signed a Hollywood film deal with Fox.
