The new rates of benefits for next year have been announced

Are you happy with the 2010/2011 benefits?

The new rates of benefits for the financial year 2010/2011 have been announced.

Some of the increases are as follows:

1. Maternity allowance, which will go up from £124.88 to £128.73
2. Widowed mother’s allowance, which will go up from £97.65 to £100.70
3. Statutory sick pay earnings threshold, which will go up from the current rate of £97 to  £102
council tax benefit, which will go up for:

  • lone parents from £65.45 to £67.50
  • couples from £102.75 to £105.95
  • parents with dependent children from £57.57 to £62.33
