What work did you do before you set up your company?
I was the marketing manager Swatch.
How did you fund the business?
I decided to sell what I liked to buy as a customer!
What was the motivating factor for staring your own business?
To get a better work-life balance, be with the kids but work in a sector that I love.
What do you enjoy most about running your own business?
Making the selection of products and looking for designers.
Running a business can be a mixed bag sometimes. What have been you highs and lows so far?
Highs: happy with the site, love the design, hearing people feedback.
Lows: not enough sales yet!
How have you managed to stay on top of your career with the demands of motherhood while running a business?
It is very demanding, I work when the kids are in bed and use each minute of free time to work, but when it is your business you find the energy! Plus, it is key to be super organised!
How has running your business impacted on your relationship with your partner and children?
My husband is very proud, and my kids are happy to see me more (I was away between 7.30am and 7pm every day before), so it’s been super positive.
Any tips for expectant mums, or mothers who feel that you can’t have a successful career and a happy family life at the same time?
Working online gives lots of flexibility, so I would really push towards this direction of working.
