Almost 5,000 children under the age of 18 were hospitalised last year because they had drunk too much alcohol, new figures reveal.
The equivalent of almost 100 children a week ended up in hospital because of their drinking in 2006/7, according to data from the NHS.
The figures also found, overall, number of people admitted to wards in England due to their drinking has doubled in just over a decade.
