Use of perfumes linked to infertility

Pregnant women are being told not to use perfumes or scented creams, after they were linked to cancer and infertility in unborn baby boys. The warning follows research on rats showing the chemicals in many cosmetics can damage the reproductive system of male foetuses.

Researcher Prof Richard Sharpe said: ‘Women could stop using body creams and perfumes. ‘It might have no consequence but it is something positive pregnant women can do for their baby.’
