A woman tried to kill her husband by poisoning him with anti-freeze after sinking into financial crisis, a court heard.
A jury at Stafford Crown Court was told that Kate Knight, 28, set out to murder her husband Lee Knight to clear mounting debts.
She considered a “number of methods”, prosecutor Mr William Davis told the court, before settling on anti-freeze, which contains the potentially fatal chemical Ethylene Glycol.
