The 10-minute make-up trick for busy working mums

Being a busy working mum is no excuse for looking frumpy - period!
Being a busy working mum is no excuse for looking frumpy - period!
Last week, I challenged school gate mums who are feeling a little frumpy and insecure next to other school-gate mums to use the Easter holidays to raise their game and re-learn how to look good again before the kids go back to school.

Now, at Motherswhowork.co.uk towers, that the rush in the morning in even the most organised household does not make spending an hour getting dolled up before the school run achievable.

Lucky, then, that we’ve found some products that take just 10 minutes to put on, and will still make you look glam if your hair is scraped back in a ponytail (cheap Botox so I hear!) or if you’re trying to rock the bed-head look.

Sheer Cover is just one of those products, and they have come up with some top tips on how to get the natural look in only 10 minutes – backed by working mum TV presenter Emma Forbes.

Top tips on looking good, and natural, in 10 minutes

1) Use a mineral primer that won’t clog pores to make your makeup last all day – essential for mums on the go.

2) Apply a mineral base foundation which gives SPF and absorbs oil. Use quick swirling motions starting at the nose and moving outwards toward the jaw.

3) Use a creamy concealer where needed, tapping with your ring finger.

4) Apply mascara on top and bottom lashes. Good mascara means you can go without eyeshadow.

5) Swipe on a bright cheery shade of lipgloss on your lips.

6) Apply some pinky blusher on the apples of the cheeks; it’s essential to have a glow with minimal makeup.
