Anti-social behaviour: The Government plans to get them young

As part of the Youth Task Action Plan, a thousand of the most challenging children will be given non-negotiable treatment and support?in a bid to stave off anti-social behaviour in later life.

As announced today by Ed Balls and Beverley Hughes, the plan will focus on tough enforcement on unacceptable behaviour and aims to give support to young people to get to the root cause of their poor behaviour.

The Government, still trying to push Anti Social Behaviour Orders, says that young people who fail to comply?or refuse to mend their ways they will face the court orders .

Ed Balls, Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families, said: “It is right that our first priority has been to put in place legislation to stop antisocial behaviour in its tracks to bring respite to communities.

“The Action Plan will go further to tackle antisocial behaviour by making sure we take strong actions to tackle the underlying causes such as substance misuse and family breakdown.

“Recognising these problems doesn’t condone bad behaviour – nor is help a soft option.

“In the end where young people and families don’t accept help to change their behaviour then the right thing to do is to use Antisocial Behaviour Orders and Individual Support Orders.”
