At last! Some good childcare news for parents, as government plans to give ALL working parents a £2,000 boost towards costs

Since the Coalition government came into power, you’d be forgiven for thinking that they had no compassion or understanding of the financial struggles many UK working parents face.

For one thing, much of the budget seemed focused on tightening the noose even more around the necks of parents – and working meant the noose would be tugged a bit more!

But it seems they have finally seen sense and are planning to give all working parents £2,000 per year, per child towards the cost of childcare for children aged up to five years old.

It’s not going to eliminate the financial costs most working parents pay for childcare – that would barely pay for two months’ worth of full-time nursery places in London, for example, but it’s a start!
