Maybe it’s because I’m a psychology graduate…or that I’m curious by nature. Or both! But when the opportunity came up to have my handwriting analysed by a graphologist I didn’t need to be asked twice.
If you read my previous post about this, you’ll remember that the writing in question was made when I made a frantic call to my insurance broker after someone drove into the back of my car.
Here’s what Adam Brand, the Post-it® Graphologist, had to say about my handwriting:
“The title you have given your website [Mothers Who Work] is ideal! The writing shows workaholic tendencies and signs that you tend to give yourself a hard time. ”
My response: Workaholic tenancies are a bit of an understatement! Like many working mums, I’m always trying to fit in about 200 hours into a 168-hour week!
“You want to be physically active, have quick comprehension and a fluent thinking ability…you understand people and can read between the lines. You take a logical approach to problem solving.
My response: I did laugh at the “you want to be physically active” comment – is it that obvious that my gym membership and fitness DVDs are collecting dust?
I love people, and knowing that what I do helps so many people is very rewarding.
“You may laugh off criticism, but it hurts, so you are always motivated to do your best. The most appropriate type of work for you is one that is not repetitious and allows changes.”
My response: True, try, true! There’s nothing more mind numbing for me than work that is repetitive and doesn’t require any thought or creativity. I think most journalists would say the same of that, though. And while we may have a thick skin, we are still human – nasty comments do hurt.
Overall, I think Mr Brand was very accurate, but I’d have loved to hear his thoughts about my writing without knowing anything about what I do.
Either way, it’s been a fun experience taking part in this challenge for Post-it.
