I have never really understood why some mobile network providers charge us to listen to voicemail…can anyone shed any light on this?

So, you can imagine my delight at saving a few pennies when I came across an app that not only stops me paying to listen to voicemails, but takes voicemail to a whole new level.

This app is available for free (with ads) and for a small cost for the premium version.
I was delighted to see this app because I used it on my BlackBerry, but I discovered that it has some extra features that did not exist in the BlackBerry app.
So, first of all, you can listen to your messages as an mp3 with one click – so no more having to dial a number and press a multitude of options to get to the one message you want to listen to.
The free part is that you get given a normal telephone number to call to hear your voicemail messages (if you like the old-fashioned way of doing it), which means that your voicemail calls come out of your minutes, so if you have a good tariff, you can get away with not paying for these calls!
Then, you can also send a voice memo to someone by clicking on the microphone icon. You know sometimes you just don’t want to type out a lengthy email explaining something, and just want to say it but maybe can’t reach the person on the phone? And it’s a great way to get your emotions across when you need to reach teenagers who have gone AWOL!
You can also forward on voicemail messages via email – great if you want to send proof of something to a business partner or colleague.
Finally, the premium version let’s you record a personal message, but the free one let’s you record your name – choose your preference.
