Like just about everything else, these days, shopping online can save a lot of time and money. Most online printers allow you to choose a template for the design of your business card, and let you fill in your details yourself (what the printing company used to charge you to do!).
You can upload your logo, images or any background image you want and then pay – the whole process doesn’t take more than about half an hour if you know what you want beforehand.
Buy in bulk
Just because you plan to buy your business cards online doesn’t mean you have to drip feed your orders. If you know that you’ll be giving out a lot of business cards at trade fair, exhibitions (or just general networking) then you should probably consider buying in bulk.
Buying 1000, 2000, or more business cards significantly reduces your cost per card so it’s money well spent.
Look for discounts online
When you’re ready to print your business cards with a known company, be sure to do a Google search for any discounts or offers they may have running. There are websites that are specially dedicated to sharing discount codes, so you could potentially save even more money.
Read reviews before you spend big
Remember to look online for reviews, too. You’ll get a good indication of whether a company is reputable or not. A simple search in a search engine is good, but also check social networks – people are very vocal on Twitter and other platforms so read before you buy!
Look out for expensive shipping costs
Online printers often have deals where you can get x amount of products for free, then ranmp up on the cost of delivering them to you if you want to get them quickly. The best way to avoid getting stung in this way (and then losing out on savings) is to order as far in advance as you can – don’t wait two days before an important event before you order, or you’ll pay a premium rate to have them delivered to you!
