Social stereotypes are everywhere and the workplace is no different! It’s amazing how, even in 2018, women as men do not have a level playing field when it comes to their expected behaviours. If a man is assertive in the workplace, he’s a great boss, or an asset to the team, but a woman doing exactly the same is labelled bossy, confrontational or a b*tch.

“A #girlboss is in charge of her own life. She gets what she wants because she works for it,” says Sophia Amoruso, the author os the book #Girlboss.

While she’s not a mum, Sophia who hasn’t even hit the big 3-0 has an old head on her shoulder, which probably comes from life’s experiences. Thrown out of school, and getting caught shoplifting, Amoruso decided to change her life. She set up an eBay business selling vintage clothes, and when she had found her feet (and been bullied off the platform), she decided to set up her own website. The rest is history.
