The importance of best friends

Poor Little Sister has had a tough week as her best friend at nursery, Meg, is on holiday. “Meg didn’t come to school today,” she solemnly informed me at pick-up on Monday. (She calls her nursery ‘school’ to be like Big Girl).

Tuesday’s drop off was tearful and clingy. ?Meg?s on the beach,? I explained. “I’m going to the beach too,” she replied confidently. Although, she was eventually tempted away by the prospect of some gluing.

Drop off became easier as the week progressed. By Thursday she was resigned to the fact that her best friend was away.

Meg and Little Sister just ?get? each other. They share the same sense of fun, humour and, of course, a love of Dora The Explorer. When she?s with Meg she can say goodbye with a smile on her face which leaves me feeling happier (& a lot less guilty).

We’re both looking forward to Meg?s return on Monday.
