So now my week of BlackBerry Challenge is over, and yes it has been a challenge!
While the BlackBerryCurve is fantastic for social media, blogging and email it isn’t great for me to access work documents.
Any Word docs are readable although it doesn’t handle tables too well but not being able to open publisher docs means I can’t add bookings to the floor plan, so I did have to pop on my laptop to keep that up to date.
I also missed tweetdeck a lot – with six twitter accounts it is the only way I can keep up with them all so please please bring out a BlackBerry version for me!
Having said that I am very pleased with how much the BlackBerry has improved my work-life balance – being able to check emails on the move is essential now I am busy with the Yorkshire Family Show and it means I can keep in contact easily with my sales and marketing manager. This is handy as we both have kids so any last-minute meeting changes don’t catch me out!
I can see the BlackBerry Curve enhancing my laptop usage rather than replacing it, and it will certainly be an integral part of my working life for the foreseable future!
