Mumpreneur wins award for baby and all bag

Mumpreneur Debbie Mankelow?has one more thing to fit into her baby and all bag – a Tommy’s Innovation Award!

Debbie, as featured here on Mothers Who Work, won the award after being nominated by parents as a must have for anyone with a baby or toddler.

The bag is designed to be indespensible on the school run or while shopping, allowing for plenty of carriage space whilst cleverly doubling as a baby carrier.

The inspiration came when?Debbie was finding the school run increasing difficult while carrying her ten month old baby as she picked up her five year old son. She needed a carrier that was with her all the time, simple to use and not another thing to deal with. Putting a? background in Fashion Design to good work, the prototype for the award-winning baby and all bag was made from a pair of old denim jeans! The rest is history.

This is the first year that Tommy’s have carried out the Innovation Awards which encourage parents all over the UK to to tell other mums and dads about the product or service they simply could not have survived without.

Commenting on her award, Debbie said: ?I?m really pleased and very surprised as I know how many brilliant products there are out there for parents. I feel so proud that something that I dreamt up to use for my own children has been nominated by other parents as a must have product!?

Jane Brewin, Chief Executive of Tommy?s said: “The goal of Tommy?s Parent Friendly Awards is to reward those individuals and organisations that go the extra mile to put parents’ needs first. The Baby and All Bag does just that – it’s a great innovation and we’d like to congratulate Debbie on her win.?

She added: ?There’s still a lot more that can be done to make the UK more parent friendly but so far, Tommy?s has rewarded over 150 companies with an Award and we would like to think we’re driving best practice, encouraging more companies to follow suit.”
