Mornings don’t need to be stressful – seriously. Even if you have a family of 10, there are some measures you can put in place to make sure everything runs smoothly from the alarm clock going off in the morning to when you’ve finished the morning school or childcare run.

Here they are:

1. Do a car share
If it would make your life easier to share the load, you may consider doing a car share with another family if they have a child or children at the same school as yours.

This means that you can get to work earlier, or get a lie in. Whatever the reason, sharing the load can make a huge difference to your mornings.

2. Teach your children independence
It’s great to feel needed, but after a while if your children depend on you for everything single thing they do you’ll start to feel the strain. Teach your children how to get dressed in the mornings, how to pack away their school uniform in the evenings etc, and your life will get that little bit easier in the mornings.

3. Check bags the night before
If you are always in a rush to sign letters from school, or find a fiver for school trips because your forgot to get change the day before – or something else – you’ll know how stressful it can be.

Getting everything packed and ready the night before may seem a little OCD, but it just makes things a lot easier in the morning. Try it.
